About Us

Hey 👋

We’re Sriram and Darshan, and we founded OctoShop, a chrome extension that allowed people to compare prices and set in-stock alerts for millions of online products. We grew the extension and website to 1M+ users, eventually leading to a multimillion-dollar acquisition by Ibotta. Over the last 10 years, we’ve learned a lot about not only building a great product, but also how to scale and market it.

To put it frankly, we still have that "startup itch". That’s why In our downtime we have been contracting with Series A / Seed startups while fully vesting the equity from our last acquisition at Ibotta. Effectively, we offer 2 part-time engineers for the price of one, but with all of the expertise and domain knowledge that comes from running a successful startup and being a product owner.

• Web Development: Extensive experience in building and scaling full stack web applications using modern frameworks and technologies.
• Chrome Extensions: We’ve built chrome extensions with hundreds of thousands of users and know how to monetize them consistently. We’ve also rewritten many existing projects from Manifest v2 to Manifest v3, so we know the space in and out!
• Mobile Development: Proficient in SwiftUI, Kotlin, and React Native for creating high-quality mobile applications.
• Backend Development: Strong background in building robust backend systems and APIs on both GCP, AWS, and everything in between!

Our Startup Experience

1. **Instok/OctoShop:** Founded website and chrome-extension for price Comparison / item tracking on 2000+ retailers. 1M+ lifetime users. Acquired in multi-million dollar acquisition to Ibotta.
2. gather.town: Contracted for a Series B remote work platform. Upgraded their entire onboarding flow, integrating dynamic survey functionality into their product across browser & mobile. Worked on modernizing their gsuite addon / chrome extension.
3. Breezi: Worked with Seed stage Social app. Worked intimately with founders and founding engineer to develop their entire mobile app in React Native. Refactored their entire codebase as well.
4. Cloaked: Contracted for a Series A privacy and security startup. Rewrote their entire chrome extension, built out a custom browser automation engine, and worked on a data-deletion pipeline.
5. **Registration-Plus:** Founded chrome extension that helps students register for classes easier. 50k+ users.
6. **www.apply.fyi:** Founded platform for students to share salaries and interview info for internships. 36,000+ users. Acquired by levels.fyi
7. CardLift: Contracted for YC S24 fintech startup. Developed browser extension and SDK for subscription automatic management and filling.
